Citywide restores a space for the whole family
The Green family has a multi-generational home that ranges in age from toddlers to retirees. Their backyard carport top deck is the central space for the family’s recreation, vehicle storage and child play area.
After ten years the existing deck was showing it’s age. Some areas were soft due to rot, with failing seams and multiple layers of paint. Looking to get a fresh vinyl surface, the family contacted Citywide Sundecks in summer 2020. After a prompt quote the family hired Citywide and the project got rolling.
Citywide’s team removed the existing deck membrane, plywood and posts, installing brand new beams, plywood and sloping the deck for water drainage. The new plywood was channel routered so that replacement Duradek vinyl would lay flush at the seams and around the perimeter of the deck.
As the existing aluminum railings and stairs were in good condition, they were carefully removed and reinstalled after the deck repairs were complete. Because the structural condition of the carport was good, the project completed in just a few days.
